In 1845, Frankenmuth Michigan was settled by a group of 15 germans including a Lutheran minister. The settlers came to build a church and teach Christianity to the Native Americans. The church was the first building in the town, followed shortly by a school. In only a short 7 years, Frankenmuth was able to build over 80 cabins and houses.

Frankenmuth celebrates a variety of festivals including Bavarian Festival, Oktoberfest, AutoFest, Snow Fest, and many more.
